Tip: If you are interested in a one way link
to your website, why not ask if you can submit
an article to the website or maybe even be a
guest blogger.
If theres one thing website owners need its
content!
|
Despite this I still receive emails
with link exchange requests. These people that ignore
what I'm saying are wasting their time and my time.
Why bother asking for a link exchange when there's
a 100% chance that you won't get it. Your efforts
are better served doing something else for your website.
Here's how to do a proper link exchange
request.
1) First of all READ what the websites
link exchange terms are. If the website owner wants
you to go through certain steps do that. If the website
says, they are not accepting link exchanges, it means
they are not accepting link exchanges.
2) Don't ask the website to link to
you AND THEN you'll link to them. Why should they
link to you first? Ain't gonna happen! You should
link to them first and then maybe you'll have a shot.
3) Leave the websites link up for at
least a month. Any website worth linking to is going
to be busy. So in turn, the website owners are busy
and just are not able to post your link right away
on their website. Think about it! Sending emails to
the website owner threatening that you'll delete their
link doesn't work either.
4) Try not to send long and drawn out
emails about the benefits of exchanging links. It's
obviously a link
exchange form letter and gives the impression
that you're sending the letter out to hundreds of
webmasters and hope that just a few will bite. The
webmaster already knows the benefits of link exchanges.
This type of email will be deleted.
5) Only exchange links with websites
who are of a similar subject as your website. Nobody
will link to a site that has nothing to do with their
website. If the website owner runs a web design site,
why would they want to link to a wig shop? That's
just stupid.
If the link exchange does happen, don't
delete the link later on. Surprisingly a lot of webmasters
do this. They will request a link exchange and once
you add their link, they'll delete your link so that
they have a one way link pointing to their website.
That's an extremely rude thing to do and a waste of
everyone's time. The site will find out what you've
done eventually and you'll have ruined your online
reputation.
Keep those ideas in mind and you'll
increase your chances for a successful link exchange.
Good luck with your link exchanges.
