The Google Adsense affiliate program is highly recommended due to it’s ease of use and highly targeted ads that are relevant to your website’s audience. Just place the Adsense code on each of your website’s pages and your site visitors will do the rest.
Once Google ads are placed on your pages their technology will read the content from your pages and deliver ads that match with your page subject. For an example if your website is about web design like my site, you’ll see ads for web design and webmaster related ads. What happens is Google Adwords advertisers bid on certain keywords and when these keywords are found on your pages those ads will appear.
In addition Adsense can pay very well. The amount you receive per click can vary from 1 cent to 100+ dollars. It depends on your niche and what the advertiser bid for the click. You’ll share what the advertiser bid with Google. How much Google gets, we don’t know. The month after your account balance reaches 100 you’ll be paid by check, Wester Union or direct deposit.
If you’re lucky at the end of the year they may give you a gift for participation in the program. Check out this following print screen for my network of websites earnings for January ‘08:
It’s not an easy task to earn from Adsense. You have to work very hard at providing original content for your website visitors so that they’ll want to come back. Traffic is the key to earning big with Adsense. The more traffic you’ll have, the more money you’ll make. There are no shortcuts to this.
Here are a few tips for you:
- Don’t click on your own ads. You’ll be banned from the program pretty much for life.Â
- Don’t ask friends and family to click on your ads.
- Be sure to read the terms of service when you sign up. You’ll need to know what you can and can not do with the program.
- When you apply for the program make sure your website complies with the terms of service. Make sure you have a professional website, with real content. Some people start out with a blog about something they are passionate about.
