Google Crawl Rate Update

A few months ago I told you how my site’s Google Crawl Rate was upped to “Crawl at a Faster Rate”. I was hoping to keep it at a faster rate to get my pages idexed faster. I have noticed that some of my pages have not been recrawled after a month or two of changes being made to them. Well, unfortunately this wasn’t the case. My crawl rate is set back to “normal” now. Hopefully it will get switched back later on.

I looked at the crawl rate setting today in Webmaster Tools and the option to crawl at a Faster Rate was there again. I guess it’s not an automatic thing and your site gets reviewed before the crawl rate can be extended.

Now my sites have 90 more days to be crawled at a Faster Rate. If you control more than one website in your Webmaster Tools the option to crawl faster is open to all of the web sites.
