KonaLibBaseRM.js

I opened my error logs to see some weird “file not found” errors today:

The files that are being called are not any files that exist on my website. I did a Google search for KonaLibBaseRM.js and was surprised that I didn’t find much.

I saw one explanation that the KonaLibBaseRM.js is a malicious javascript file that someone has used to scan my site for vulnerabilities. Hmmm…

After further investigating I saw a post where someone was advising others on how to use Mozilla Firefox Adbock to remove Kontera’s double underline links on websites.  Kontera is an affilite program for websites.  It is used on this website.

I think I’ll go with this explanation. So now I see that the file not found errors occurred because someone was trying to view my website ad-free.

Enjoy!

Gina
