Memorial Day is May 31, 2010, which is the last Monday in May. It is a national holiday that commemorates the United States men and women who died while in the military service. Traditionally people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials of loved ones who have died in wars or in other service to their country. It is a common practice to bring flowers to the deceased ones gravesite. A lot of people are off from work on this holiday and invite people over for a backyard bbq during the long weekend.
