A not so publicized holiday, Nurses Week is the celebration to remember all of the contributions that nurses make in the community. Nurses perform important tasks such as taking blood pressure, giving shots, drawing blood, running tests, and refilling prescriptions. Registered nurses perform medical examinations, prescribe medications and other important duties that deal with your medical health as well.
Nurse’s Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th. Nurses Week is a memorial for Florence Nightingale, who is known as the mother of modern nursing. Nurses Day is on May 6th.
Nurses day gift ideas include flowers, cookie gift baskets, picture frames, watches, clocks and jewelry. If you know someone who is a nurse, be sure to remember the important contributions they make to keeping all of their patients healthy.
