We are proud to offer our customers a One Page Informational website for $99. This is great for customers who simply want to develop and Internet presence. It also allows you to test the waters before you commit to a full blown website. You supply us with your text, up to 800 words, and your business logo or a photo, and we'll get it online in a matter of hours! This won't be a cheesy website design, it will be very professional. A page that will represent your business in the highest light. The page will be hosted for free for one year and as a bonus your site will become a partner of a growing shopping mall.

What's New on the Website?

What's Down the Road?

Web Design Article: .htaccess Is Your Friend!

The .htaccess file is an ASCII text document that can be placed in any directory on your site. It can be used to control access to files and directories, and customize some server operation in your site. A .htaccess file can be created in any word processor but must be saved as text only. You must use FTP software in ASCII mode to upload or edit your .htaccess file. For the examples provided here, place the .htaccess file in your root directory. Before you make any changes to your .htaccess file, make sure you have a back up copy. The slightest mistake can disable your site.

Custom Error Messages

Add the following to the .htaccess file::

ErrorDocument 404 /notfound.html

After "ErrorDocument" specify the error code, followed by a space, and then the path and filename of the .html file you would like to be displayed when the specified error is generated.

Denying User Access

Add the following to the .htaccess file:

<Limit GET>
order allow,deny
deny from 122.293.435.
deny from 277.128.55.213
allow from all
</Limit>

This is an example of a .htaccess file that will block access to your site to anyone who is coming from any IP address beginning with 128.23.45 and from the specific IP address 207.158.255.213 . By specifying only part of an IP address, and ending the partial IP address with a period, all sub-addresses coming from the specified IP address block will be blocked. You must use the IP addresses to block access, use of domain names is not supported.

Different Default Home Page

Add the following to the .htaccess file:

DirectoryIndex filename.html

Then a request for http://domain-name.net/ would return http://domain-name.net/filename.html if it exists, or would list the directory if it did not exist.

To automatically run a cgi script, add the following to the .htaccess file:

DirectoryIndex /cgi-local/index.pl

This would cause the CGI script /cgi-bin/index.pl to be executed.

If you place your .htaccess file containing the DirectoryIndex specification in the root directory of your site, it will apply for all sub-directories at your site.

Preventing People from Linking to Your Images

To prevent people HOTLINKING (linking to your images from other sites, so they
show on their pages on their sites, without the viewer ever visiting your site, though you pay for the bandwidth) add this rule to any of your .htaccess files on your site. Remember: placed in the root they guard the whole site.

The http://www.yoursite.com/, tells the server which site the rewrite is for. The *somesite.com, tells the script to allow hot-linking from anywhere on that site, add a line for each site allowed to hotlink (change somesite.com/ to yoursite.com, if no hotlinking from other sites is allowed). You can choose whether to place this 'anti-hotlink' rule in your members aria to protect only there, or in your root to protect your whole site. If it's in your root, nobody can hotlink - no topsites, nothing, to anywhere on your site.)

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://([a-z0-9-]+\.)*somesite.com/ [NC]
RewriteRule /* http://www.yoursite.com [L,R]

You may want to protect mpegs, too: in that case, use this one:

Use this one to prevent the hot-linking of your pics, and movies:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.yourdomain.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://yourdomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule .*\.(gif|GIF|jpg|JPG|mpg|MPG|Mpeg|mpeg|MPEG|rm|RM)$ http://www.yourdomain.com [R,L]

Or this one

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://w*\.*yourdomain.com
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://w*\.*yourIPaddress
RewriteRule .*[Jj][Pp][Gg]$|.*[Gg][Ii][Ff]$ http://www.yourbannerpage.com [R,L]
