Q.
What will I receive when I purchase a flash gallery?
A.
You will receive a zip file containing a Flash SWF
file (non editable), sample images, an administration
file, and instructions on how to add your photos to
the gallery. You can not make any changes to the gallery
other than those noted given in the gallery description.

Is the flash source file (FLA) for sale?
A.
No, not at this time. Hoover's Flash Photo Galleries
were created for the basic website owner who does
not have Flash design skills but wants to have a cool
flash photo gallery on their website.
Q.
What do my site visitors need to view the flash photo
gallery?
A.
Your site visitors will need to have Internet Explorer
6.0 and the latest version of Flash 9,0,28,0 installed
in their browsers. If you are using a different browser
you will have to test out it's compatibility by using
our demo
flash photo gallery before you make your purchase
as we don't offer refunds on digital products.
Q.
Can you do customizations on the gallery or create
a custom gallery for me?
A.
No, not at this time. We're in the process of adding
several new galleries and music players and can't
take on any custom work.

Can I download a sample gallery?
A.
Yes, you are welcomed to download
the demo gallery to see how it works.
Q.
Are there any restrictions for using the photo galleries?
A.
The galleries do not work on free hosted websites
that do not have a fully qualified domain name. An
example would be like those from your isp, geocites,
etc. You will need to have purchased your own fully
qualified domain name. The galleries do not work on
Ebay or on cds.
Q.
Can I get a refund?
A.
Per the license agreement
we are not able to offer refunds once the product
has been downloaded. It is impossible to "return"
a digital product. You will need to read the license
agreement, check out this FAQ and ask questions prior
to purchase if you have special needs. Once your order
has been approved you are given a unique username
and password that will allow you to access the products
download page.

I followed the instructions but still need help setting
up my gallery.
A.
When asking for support with setting up your gallery
you will need to provide the email that you placed
your order with and your order number. Each gallery
license is assigned to an individual so the person
who the license is assigned to is the only one whom
we will offer support to. Individuals who have not
purchased a license should not be violating the license
agreement by using the photo gallery. In most
instances we will ask for a temporary ftp and username
so that we can troubleshoot your gallery setup.

Can you add my photos inside of the photo gallery
for me?
A.
Yes we can. Turn around time is just a few hours.
We'll just need your website's ftp and username login.

Can you host the galley for me?
A.
No you need your own hosting space to use the galleries.
We offer web hosting here.
Q.
My order did not pass the verification process but
I still want the gallery. Is there anything that I
can do?
A.
In some instances we will accept a Western Union payment.

I lost my gallery files, can I redownload the files?
A.
Yes, but you will have to pay a download link reactivation
fee. Contact us for
more information.
Q.
I purchased a photo gallery that contains music. For
right now I would not like any music to play but I
will later on. What can I do?
A.
If your photo gallery does not have an auto start
or manual start setting you will have to choose a
mp3 that is blank and does not play a sound. For example
if the instructions for your photo gallery say your
mp3 must be renamed to music1.class, get a blank mp3
and rename it to music1.class. Ask
us if you need a blank mp3 file. Now when you
look at your photo gallery you will not hear a sound.
Q.
I am a web designer. Can offer the photo gallery as
one of my products and charge customers a fee to set
up the photo gallery for them? I will advise the customer
that they must purchase a license from Hoover Web
Design.
A.
No, we do not allow any of the galleries to be resold.
Q.
Can I place the gallery on a cd?
A.
If you are doing so for backup purposes, yes. Anything
other than this is not allowed. The gallery will not
work on a CD, only the website which has a license.
Q.
How does the gallery work?
A.
The Flash SwF file reads the images placed in your
web directory and displays these images inside the
photo gallery. Note you must be able to resize your
photos to the appropriate gallery size. If you don't

I can't see the photo gallery in my browser.
A.
Download the latest version of Flash for your browser
from here: 
Q. Can I add the photo gallery inside of another flash
movie?
A.
If you know how to do this, this is fine. Our photo
galleries were designed to go on a html page. Our
support will be limited to helping you set up your
photo gallery on a web page not inside of a flash
movie.
Q.
Why can't I view the gallery on my local machine?
A.
The gallery will only work on the domain name that
you purchased a license for. It will not work on your
local machine or a website that does not have a license.
You will need to upload the gallery to your website
to view it.
Q.
When I view the gallery I receive an invalid license
message?
A.
First check that you are using the gallery on the
domain name that the gallery is assigned to. The gallery
will not work on a domain that you did not purchase
a license for. Next you will need to ensure you have
the latest version of Flash installed in your browser.
You can check to see if you have the latest version
of Flash by right clicking on the gallery and selecting
"about". You should have at least version
7. If you dial up to access the Internet we can tweak
a few settings to delay the movie until your connection
catches up. Contact us

Q. If I buy more than one gallery can I get a discount?
A.
Yes, if you purchase more than one gallery license
during a visit you can receive a discount. The discount
is done on a case by case basis. Contact
us for more details.
Q. Can I customize the gallery by changing the image
display size?
A.
The gallery can not be customized other than mentioned
in the description. If you purchase a photo gallery
it will behave exactly as the demo gallery
that is on the website.
Q. My images are not showing in the photo gallery.
I can only see black boxes.
A.
When you are in your graphics editor (Photoshop or
Fireworks) and are creating the images for photo gallery
make sure that you are not saving the images as progressive
jpeg images. A progressive jpg will display the picture
as it downloads. Macromedia Flash will not display
progressive jpeg images so you get a black box or
blank space. Also note that the images in the gallery
should be saved as a .jpg. This is case sensitive.
Naming your pictures JPEG. and .JPG will also cause
your images to not display.
Q.
Can I stream music from another location to be used
in the gallery?
A.
No, In order for the gallery to read MP3 files they
must be located on the same server as the galley SwF
file.
Q.
The music player in the gallery takes a long time
to load my song.
A.
The music player can not control the speed that it
takes to load a song. The speed depends on two things,
1) your Internet connection and 2) the size of the
song that you choose to add to your player. To make
your music player load the songs quickly you should
choose MP3 music that is small in size (4 megs or
less).

Can the gallery display portrait and landscape pictures?
A.
If you purchase a photo gallery it will behave exactly
as the demo gallery that is shown on the website.

Q.
The gallery I am interested in plays MP3 music. Can
I stream my MP3?
A.
No, the gallery will load the MP3 to 100% and then
play. Note, the MP3 file must be in the same web directory
as the gallery file.
Q.
Can I have more than one gallery on my website?
A.
Yes you may, provided you are not using the gallery
commercially. The gallery is to be used for your personal
use on 1 website. It is acceptable to use the gallery
to separate events such as having Christmas pictures,
Halloween pictures, etc. A business might have separate
galleries for interior designs and exterior designs.
These are both acceptable uses. An example of using
the gallery commercially would be hosting photo galleries
on your website for someone other than yourself. If
you want to use gallery on more than one domain, you
will need to purchase an additional gallery license.

Is the gallery an instant download item?
A.
Before you receive the link to download your photo
gallery, each transaction goes through a fraud verification
process. This process usually takes no longer than
24 hours.
Q.
Do I need Macromedia Flash to edit the Photo Gallery?
A
No. The gallery is edited with simple text files.
Q.
Can I change "Hoover Web Design" to my own
title?
A
Yes.
Q.
Can I change the layout?
A
No, the gallery layout can not be customized. If you
purchase a photo gallery it will behave exactly as
the demo gallery that is on the website.

Can I change the background and text color?
A.

Q.
For Gallery 1, can I change the font of the word Gallery
or change the word "Gallery"?

No.
Q.
Can I change the size of the images?
A.
No, the gallery can not be customized. If you purchase
a photo gallery it will behave exactly as the demo
gallery that is on the website.
Q.
Can I add music to the gallery?
A.
Only if the gallery description states that it comes
with music. Your web host will have to allow for both
.mp3 and .class files depending on which gallery you
purchase. Some of the players require you to rename
your .mp3 file to Class
Q.
Can I use a language other than English for the titles
and descriptions in the gallery?
A.
No, English is the only language supported by the
gallery.
Q.
I purchased a flash gallery, can I switch the license
to another gallery?
A.
No. If you are interested in another gallery you will
have to purchase it.
Q.
Is there a way to format the application for slower
download speeds (33.6 kb)?
A.
No.

Can I resell or give away copies of the gallery?
A.
No, absolutely not. This violates the license
agreement. This includes advertising our photo
galleries on your website and saying you will set
it up for your customers for a fee. Under no circumstances
will we sell licenses to designers who intend to compete
with us with our own products.
